Dubbo sale 28 May 2026: Numbers drop with rain

Yarding 1520 Change -935

After more general rain numbers fell this sale with agents yarding 1520 head. There was a mixed offering of young cattle penned along with a large percentage of cows. The usual buyers were present and competing strongly in a dearer market, particularly on the heifer portion.

Yearlings steers to feed sold from 446 to 556c/kg. The finished types to processors reached 492c/kg. The heifer portion to feed ranged in price to sell from 429 to 522c/kg. The better types to the trade sold from 430 to 520c/kg. Young cattle to restockers attracted strong competition selling from 380 to 512c/kg.

Grown steers reached 490c with grown heifers ranging from 379 to 479c/kg. A mixed yarding of cows saw heavy finished cows receive from 389 to 426c/kg. The plainer types sold from 330 to 380c/kg. The best heavy bulls reached 425/kg.
