LIVESTOCK SA has welcomed the South Australian state government’s $8 million Primary Industries Future Forward Fund as an opportunity to support practical, industry-led initiatives that strengthen the state’s livestock industry.
The four-year fund is intended to support a broad range of priorities across primary industries, including innovation, capability, sustainability, workforce development, market promotion and
preparedness for emerging challenges.

Travis Tobin
Livestock SA chief executive Travis Tobin said the breadth of the fund was important and would allow industry to pursue the investments that can deliver the greatest value for
producers.
“Livestock producers are managing a changing mix of production, market, environmental and business pressures. This fund creates an opportunity to back practical initiatives that respond
to producer priorities and strengthen the long-term competitiveness and productivity of our industry,” Mr Tobin said.
“Alignment with the SA Red Meat and Wool Blueprint 2030 would provide a sound strategic foundation while preserving flexibility to respond to new opportunities and changing industry
needs.”
“The strongest projects will be those shaped by industry need, with clear benefits for producers and a practical pathway to adoption or delivery.”
“Livestock SA looks forward to working with producers, industry partners and government to identify proposals that can deliver measurable and lasting benefits for South Australia’s
livestock businesses and regional communities.”
