Yarding 3200 Change -350

3200 cattle were scanned in Gunnedah this week. Slightly less numbers then last week. It was a fair quality yarding of predominately yearling and feeder type cattle however all grades were represented. All major buyers were in attendance for an overall much softer market.

Prime yearling cattle to the trade made from 382c to 498c/kg. Yearling steers to feed under 400kg were 25c cheaper and made from 460c to 560c/kg while the feeder steers over 400kg were also considerably cheaper to make from 464c to 558c/kg and average 526c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed were 30c to 40c cheaper across the board. They made from 360c to 492c/kg. Light steers to the restocker were 40c cheaper to make from 474c to 564c to average 526c/kg while the heifers made from 350c to 478c and averaged 416c/kg.

Prime grown cattle to the processor made from 364c to 432c/kg. Cows were 25c to 30c cheaper. 2 score cows made from 330c to 360c/kg 3 score cows made from 348c to 376c/kg. Prime heavy weight 4 score cows made from 366c to 410c/kg and the best of the heavy bulls got to 394c/kg.
