Yarding 3550 Change +730

An influx of cattle as the warmer weather begins to hit saw 3550 cattle offered in Gunnedah 730 more than last week. It was a fair quality yarding with all categories represented. All major buyers were present for an overall softer market.

Prime yearling cattle to the trade made from 420c to 488c/kg. Yearling steers to feed under 400kg were 30c cheaper to make from 480c to 606c/kg however yearling steers over 400kg were 5c dearer as buyers continue to chase weight. They made from 480c to 586c/kg to average 557c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed were over 30c cheaper and made from 410c to 518c/kg to average 483c/kg. Light cattle to the restocker were considerably cheaper. The steers made from 519c to 656c/kg while the heifers made from 454c to 560c/kg.

Prime grown cattle to the processor topped 456c/kg. 2 score cows made from 366c to 384c/kg, 3 score cows made from 380c to 398c/kg. 4 score prime heavy weight cows made from 398c to 416c/kg and the best of the heavy bulls got to 417c/kg.
