Yarding 2820 Change +1620

After a week off last week for system upgrades Gunnedah was back with 2820 cattle scanned. 1600 more then a fortnight ago. It was an improved yarding with some larger lines of quality cattle on offer. All major buyers were present for an overall dearer market compared to a fortnight ago.

Prime yearling cattle to the trade made from 448c to 554c/kg. Yearling steers under 400kg to feed held firm to make from 520c to 640c/kg while feeder steers over 400kg were 15c cheaper and made from 470c to 588c to average 551c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed were 3c dearer to make from 400c to 558c and average 532c/kg. Light steers to the restocker were 8c dearer and more in places to make from 538c to 650c/kg while the heifers improved by 30c to make from 480c to 564c/kg.

Prime grown cattle topped at 450c/kg. Cows were 20c dearer across the board. 2 score cows made from 316c to 376c/kg. 3 score cows made from 378c to 400c/kg. 4 score prime heavy weight cows made from 390c to 430c/kg and the best of the bulls got to 426c/kg.
