Yarding 4044 Change +2745

There was a big jump in numbers and the quality was mixed with a lot of western cattle in the sale. There were a few pens of weaners and plenty of feeders, trade buyers were more selective. Grown steers and bullocks were limited and despite the much larger yarding heavy prime grown heifers were very limited. A draw of 750 cows were offered and the market sold to a mostly stronger trend.

Weaners lifted 15c to 20c with medium weight steers reaching 665c and similar weight heifers 564c/kg. Feeder steers were around 20c stronger with the medium and heavy weights ranging from 510c to 608c/kg, feeder heifers were 13c better on average and sold between 488c and 548c/kg. Trade cattle were 10c softer with the better shaped C muscle selling from 500c to 540c/kg.

Grown steers and bullocks in prime condition were 5c softer and reached 488c/kg, the heavy heifers were back 10c/kg and ranged from 456c to 480c/kg. Heavy cows were up 10c to 13c and the higher yielding cows sold from 395c to 431c with a pen of Limo C muscled cows reaching 440c/kg. Leaner 2 score cows were back 8c and ranged from 330c to 384c/kg. The best of the heavy bulls sold to 451c/kg.
