Vytelle is proud to introduce the line-up of elite Droughtmaster females heading to the ring at this year’s Vytelle Queen of the Ring Sale, being held on Tuesday 15 September at CQLX Gracemere. 

Drawn from some of the breed’s most respected studs, this year’s draft brings together females selected for fertility, temperament, structure and the maternal traits that keep commercial and stud herds performing year after year.

Each lot tells its own story, from proven breeding programs putting forward females they’d normally keep for themselves, to young heifers already showing the genetics to back up their presence in the ring.

Hamadra Qanina is an eye-catching yellow heifer that’s hard to fault. Balanced, correct and feminine, she combines an excellent carcass with the style and substance to make a fantastic breeding prospect.

The focus at Hamadra is on consistency, fertility and maintaining the style of female that works for the operation and keeps producing quality year after year.

After the success of last year’s sale, vendor Riley McKenzie was keen to put a few more Hamadra females in front of buyers. Qanina is a great example of what the stud is producing.

Lot 2 | Billabong Ophelia 9960

Billabong Ophelia 9960 is the kind of female the Hicks family doesn’t usually let go.

Ophelia is a standout example of the Billabong Droughtmasters’ focus on breeding cattle that thrive in their environment. Females are expected to calve naturally and raise their calves unassisted, from first-calf heifers right through to matrons. 

The result is a herd built around fertility, functionality and soundness. Add Ophelia’s softness and scale, and she’s a fantastic prospect for any breeding program. 

Her sire, Joey, has consistently produced top notch progeny for Billabong and Ophelia is the first female by him the Hicks family has offered.

It’s a rare opportunity for buyers to get their hands on the sort of female Billabong would normally be keeping for themselves.

Lot 3 | Hamadra Qintelle

Hamadra Qintelle is a big weight-for-age heifer with plenty of neck extension and leg, giving her stacks of presence for her age.

But it’s not just size that catches the eye. Qintelle combines that growth and frame with the correct attributes Hamadra looks for in its Droughtmaster females.

The Hamadra program is all about consistency, with a focus on fertility and maintaining a proven style of female that performs year after year.

Lot 4 |  Wisetree Hazel

Wisetree Droughtmasters | Capella, QLD

Meet Wisetree Hazel. She’s a heifer with the type, bone, balance and presence to turn heads, backed by the bloodlines and temperament to make her much more than just a pretty face.

Wisetree’s breeding program is built around type, consistency, fertility, temperament and weight for age. Hazel ticks all the boxes, plus some. Her bombproof temperament adds to her appeal as a future donor prospect.

Hazel’s pedigree is packed with breed legends and she’s already in calf to a standout sire, giving buyers the chance to secure a female with plenty of potential both in the paddock and the show ring.

Clint and Melissa Chalmers are bringing Hazel to the Vytell Queen of the Ring sale to make the most of the large buying panel and give buyers the chance to access females by sires represented in their current draft of bulls.

And there’s an extra incentive; buyers have the rare opportunity to put their own prefix on a Wisetree Famous calf.

Lot 5 | Lamont Xanadu and Lamont Zanny

Lamont Droughtmasters took out the inaugural Vytelle Queen of the Ring title in 2025. They’re back with another standout female package.

Lamont Xanadu is a beautiful young heifer with plenty going for her. She’s feminine, fertile, structurally correct and an excellent doer, with a gorgeous tropical coat and great overall type. 

She’s already proving her breeding credentials. Her impressive weaner heifer, Lamont Zanny, is at foot and Xanadu is seven months back in calf.

Xanadu and Zanny offer buyers a rare 3-in-1 package. After investing heavily in Droughtmaster genetics over the past decade, Gayle and Mac Shann are proud to showcase what their program is producing.

The Lamont program is about getting the balance right. Feminine, fertile and easy-doing females with the size, bone, temperament and sound structure to perform.

Lot 6 | Seymour Paisley

Seymour Droughtmasters | Gunalda, QLD

Seymour Paisley has serious breeding power behind her. She’s a long, soft, homozygous polled female with proven Seymour genetics and a heifer calf at foot.

By Seymour Mort, Paisley comes from one of the stronger sire lines in the Seymour program. Mort’s sons sold to $26,000 at last year’s National Bull Sale. Paisley herself is a full sister to the 2026 National Female Sale heifer that sold for $15,000.

Paisley sells with a heifer calf by Seymour Patriot, a full brother to the 2023 Futurity Grand Champion Seymour Noah. That gives her new owner an immediate opportunity to put their own prefix on the next generation.

Females at Seymour need to calve year after year, maintain great udders and sound structure, and produce quality progeny that are equal to, or better, than themselves. Paisley fits that mould, with the added bonus of being paddock-raised and only lightly prepared since calving.

She’s a genuine working female with the genetics and maternal strength to keep producing.

Lot 7 | Glenn Valley Faithful

Glenn Valley Droughtmasters focuses on commercially relevant cattle that perform where it matters. 

Maternal excellence is at the centre of the program. Females are selected for fertility, temperament, sound structure, doing ability and longevity. They need to consistently raise a quality calf without needing extra attention.

Glenn Valley Faithful brings that all together in one well-balanced package. Feminine, structurally sound and naturally easy doing, she combines strong genetics with the quiet temperament Glenn Valley values.

Vendor Alice Schloss believes being part of the Vytelle Queen of the Ring is an opportunity to showcase the females underpinning the Glenn Valley program and share those genetics with other progressive breeders.

Faithful is a great snapshot of what David, Alice and the Glenn Valley team are working towards, combining the traits needed to perform in the paddock with the quality to add value to a breeding herd.

Lot 8 | K Team Itsy Bitsy

Itsy Bitsy is a beautifully balanced heifer with the pedigree to match.

Her sire, the late Sommer Element, was selected for his correctness, length, muscling and exceptional temperament. Her dam, K Team Cotton, has earned her place as a reliable producer of quality calves.

“We’re incredibly proud to offer her,” Kerri says. “Vytelle Queen of the Ring gives us the chance to showcase females we’d normally be very tempted to keep ourselves.”

Opportunities to secure one of Sommer Element’s daughters are becoming increasingly rare, making Itsy Bitsy a genuine standout in this year’s offering.

Her bloodlines are equally impressive and she’s in calf to Glenlands D Game Changer (PP), the $200,000 sale-topper at the 2025 sale.

Wisetree Droughtmasters select for type, consistency, fertility, temperament and weight for age, and Her Majesty is a strong reflection of that.

Entering her in Vytelle Queen of the Ring gives buyers an opportunity to access females from sires represented in the Wisetree draft of bulls. There’s also the chance to put a new prefix on a calf by one of the breed’s standout sires, a rare opportunity for any breeding program.

Some females just have that easy appeal. Calanaah Nestle 9975 is one of them.

Sweet, stylish and beautifully balanced, Nestle has softness and femininity in spades. Her bloodlines trace back to Winchester, Nevada and Apollo, lines that have produced maternal females in the Calanaah herd time and time again.

Nestle is the type of female that could walk into almost any herd and fit right in, while bringing plenty of proven genetics along for the ride.
