Yarding 1299 Change -1102

Numbers were back for a mixed quality yarding. There were a few weaners and good numbers of lighter feeders while the medium and heavy weights were limited to a few good drafts. Grown steers and heifers were in short supply and there was a plainer run of cows with fewer prime heavy weights. The market sold to stronger trends.

Weaner steers were up to 25c stronger reaching 624c and the heifers jumped 40c to 50c and sold from 445c to 534c/kg, light yearling steers to a restocking order reached 630c/kg. Feeder steers were 30c stronger with secondary cattle having some of the bigger gains and sold from 520c to 581c/kg. Heifers sold 12c to 15c better and again the secondary heifers were strongest and sold from 496c to 540c/kg. Trade cattle were around 20c dearer selling from 491c to 555c/kg for B muscled Limo heifers.

Prime grown steers and bullocks ranged from 475c to 492c and the heavy grown heifers 440c to 488c/kg and lifted 10c/kg. Cows were 15c to 20c stronger, high yielding heavy weights ranged from 405c to 425c/kg and the leaner 2 score cows sold from 364c to 382c/kg. Best bull reached 427c/kg.
