Roma sale 25 August 2026: Market 10-30c dearer across the board

NLRS Commentary:

With the anticipation of some predicted showers Roma Agents yarded 5684 head. A quality yarding with light weight backgrounders heavy feeders and well finished oats bullocks penned. All the regular buyers were on the rail and active with the market dearer by 10 to 30c/kg across the board.

Yearling steers under 200kg made to 550c/kg to backgrounders. Yearling steers 200 to 280kg topped 596c/kg to backgrounders. Yearling steers 280 to 330kg selling from 370c to 584c/kg to backgrounders. Yearling steers 330 to 400kg made to 546c to Lot Feeders and 564c/kg to backgrounders. Yearling steers 400 to 480kg sold to 568c to Lot Feeders to average 516c/kg. Yearling steers over 480kg went against the trend and sold to 466c/kg to processors 20c/kg easier.

Yearling heifers under 200kg made to 446c/kg to backgrounders. Yearling heifers 200 to 280kg topped 488c/kg to backgrounders. Yearling heifers 280 to 330kg selling from 330c to 514c/kg to restockers. Yearling heifers 330 to 400kg made to 522c to Lot Feeders and 528c/kg to restockers. Yearling heifers 400 to 480kg sold to 490c to Lot Feeders and 520c/kg to restockers.

Grown steers 400 to 500kg sold from 440c to 568c/kg to Lot Feeders. Grown steers 500 to 600kg  made to 546c to Lot Feeders and 448c/kg to processors. Well finished oats bullocks with an EU status over 600kg sold to 471c/kg to processors. Grown heifers over 540kg with score 3s selling to 464c/kg to processors.

Another run of prime cows penned with not as many light store cows yarded. A small number of young score 3s cows over 520kg made to 414c/kg to processors. The 2 score cows 400 to 520kg made from 240c to 382c/kg to processors. Bulls over 600kg sold to 456c/kg to processors.
