Yarding 1200 Change -720

1200 cattle were scanned in Gunnedah this week 720 less then last week. It was a fair quality yarding of predominately yearling and weaner type cattle. Young cattle to the trade as well as prime grown cattle were limited. All major buyers were present for an overall dearer market.

Prime cattle to the trade made to 420c/kg. Yearling steers to feed were considerably dearer to make from 480c to 598c and average 577c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed improved by 10c to make from 424c to 554c and average 528c/kg. Renewed interest in light cattle to the restocker continued to see rises of 40c and more in places. The steers made from 548c to 640c and average 599c/kg. The heifers made from 450c to 540c and average 500c/kg.

Prime grown cattle to the processor topped at 422c/kg. 2 score cows to the processor were 25c dearer. They made from 300 to 350c/kg 3 score cows held firm to make from 340c to 379c/kg. 4 score prime heavy weight cows were marginally cheaper to make from 380c to 405c/kg. The best bulls got to 396c/kg.
