Yarding 5813 Change -2018
NLRS Commentary:
With the continuing dry conditions Roma Agents offered reduced yarding of 5,813 head 2,018 less than the previous sale. All the regular buyers attending with additional buyers from NSW and Victoria. The quality of the yarding was very mixed across all classes especially runs of store conditioned cows offered. The market stayed solid throughout however prices fluctuated on quality.
Yearling steers under 200kg made from 360c to 528c/kg to backgrounders. Yearling steers 200 to 280kg sold from 300c to 568c/kg 12c/kg dearer to backgrounders. Yearling steers 280 to 330kg made to 558c to average 511c/kg to backgrounders. Yearling steers 330 to 400kg sold to a dearer trend to make to 548c to restockers and 538c/kg to Lot Feeders. Yearling steers 400 to 480kg also improved to make to 530c/kg to Lot Feeders. Yearling steers over 480kg selling to 490c/kg to processors almost 60c/kg stronger.
Yearling heifers under 200kg made to 374c/kg to backgrounders. Yearling heifers 200 to 280kg improved almost 16c/kg to make to 460c/kg to restockers. Yearling heifers 280 to 330kg topped 492c/kg to restockers almost 50c/kg dearer. Yearling heifers 330 to 400kg sold to dearer trend to make to 456c to restockers and 502c/kg to Lot feeders. Yearling heifers 400 to 480kg with only a small number selling to 434c/kg to processors.
Grown steers 400 to 500kg selling from 424c to 536c/kg to processors. Grown steers 500 to 600kg topped 530c/kg processors almost 40c/kg stronger. Bullocks over 600kg improved 5c/kg to sell to 458c/kg to processors. Grown heifers over 540kg sold to 446c to restockers and 456c/kg to Lot Feeders.
Once again a large consignment of cows penned which included runs of store conditioned cows. The 4 score topped 390c with the 3 score cows with two exceptional high yielding cows selling to 410c/kg to processors. The 1 and 2 score cows sold from 130c to 240c with the lead score 2 cows selling from 250c to 368c/kg to processors. Bulls over 600kg selling to 458c/kg to processors.
