HOTEL patrons tucking into a juicy JBS steak at regional pubs scattered across Queensland and NSW today can play a part in raising much-needed funds for the Farm Angels charity.

JBS Australia is donating $2 from every JBS steak sold today (Friday, 14 August) at participating pubs and hotels (see full list below) on Flanno for a Farmer Day.

The initiative will see hospitality venues help raise funds for Farm Angels, supporting farming families impacted by natural disasters, financial hardship and challenging seasonal conditions.

Founded in 2014, Farm Angels (formerly Drought Angels) began as a grassroots response to drought in Queensland and has since grown to provide practical assistance, emotional support and financial relief to thousands of farming families across Australia each year.

Farm Angels chief executive Jason Law said Flanno for a Farmer Day is a nationwide celebration of mateship, community spirit and support for rural Australia.

“The national fundraising campaign is critical to helping Farm Angels deliver direct assistance to farming families when they need it most, whether that’s emergency financial support, essential supplies, food assistance, or mental health support and referrals,” Mr Law said.

“We’re encouraging businesses, schools and communities across Australia to pull on their favourite flanno on Friday, 14 August, and help raise funds to show our farmers they’re not alone. We’re incredibly grateful to have JBS supporting the campaign in such a meaningful way.”

As Australia’s largest beef producer and a long-term partner of Australian livestock producers, JBS Australia said supporting the campaign was a natural fit.

JBS Northern chief operating officer Brendan Tatt said the company was proud to support Farm Angels and the important work it does for agricultural communities.

“Farm Angels provides invaluable support to farming families across the country, including many of our producer partners,” Mr Tatt said.

“Flanno for a Farmer Day is a simple way for Australians to get involved. Visit a participating venue, enjoy a JBS steak and know that $2 from every steak sold will go directly towards helping farming families through Farm Angels.”

The campaign aims to bring communities together in support of Australian farmers, with every steak sold helping Farm Angels continue delivering practical assistance to farming families across the country.
