Yarding 8186 Change +455

The large numbers of cattle coming to market in recent weeks continued at Dalby, with agents yarding 8,186 head, 455 more than the previous sale and well above average numbers. Cows were again well represented, with 1,880 head penned. Overall supply was further boosted by two large consignments totalling 483 head and 447 head respectively, providing buyers with a broad selection of cattle across all categories. Export buyer attendance was good and there was a return to a full panel of feeder operators and interstate restockers provided support on light weight cattle.
Despite the large selection of young cattle both restocker and feeder classes experienced strong demand with any price changes due to the quality penned. Heavy grown steers and bullocks to export processors were well supplied and sold to a very good market. Medium and heavy weight cows to export processors averaged 4c to 7c/kg better.
