Last call for cattle producers around Ballarat, Launceston and Sale to have levy input

Beef Central 21/07/2026

Cattle producers around Ballarat in Victoria, Launceston TAS and Sale in SA are reminded about the opportunity to take part in discussions this week about the current review of the $5 transaction levy and how it is invested on behalf of the industry.

Participants will join Cattle Australia CEO Will Evans and cattle transaction levy review representative Harry Youngman in the free and open discussion.

Discussions cover levy payer ideas about what industry priorities for R&D investments need to be – to best move the dial in cattle production in Australia.

Is the industry investing in the next big ideas?

Questions are also being raised about the amount of investment that is required in marketing and other non-R&D programs – and how that should look in the future.

National industry representation is also a clear industry priority that is being widely discussed – and what industry needs now – to best have their voice heard in the myriad of national and community forums.

All cattle producers and industry stakeholders are welcome to attend…
