Yarding 7731 Change +1679

The trend of increased numbers across other selling centres continued at Dalby this week, with agents yarding 7731, an increase of 1679 head on the previous sale. The larger offering included two substantial consignments of 885 and 501 head respectively. Females dominated the selling pens with 1797 cows and 1658 heifers. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed sold to a very firm market. Light weight yearling heifers to restockers improved in price. Medium weight yearling heifers sold to good demand for the quality penned and heavy weights experienced strong support. A few heavy grown steers and bullocks to processors averaged 15c/kg better. Restockers were very active in the cow section and average prices improved by 6c to 8c/kg on those returning to the paddock. However heavy weight cows to export processors experienced very little change in price.
