
Yarding 2979 Change +1757
Numbers were up by 1800 for a yarding of 2980. It was a pretty good quality yarding with good numbers of prime young cattle along with odd pens to suit the feeders. There was a lot better selection of cows along with limited numbers of prime grown steers and heifers. Not all the regular buyers were operating with some feeder buyers absent though there was an additional feeder order from the north.
Young cattle to the trade were 20c dearer with the prime vealers and yearlings selling from 520c to 574c/kg. Lightweight feeder steers were 10c cheaper while the heavier feeder steers and feeder heifers were up to 15c/kg dearer. Feeder steers sold from 500c to 614c while the feeder heifers sold from 470c to 570c/kg.
Young cattle to the restockers were 20c dearer with the young steers selling to 675c and the young restocker heifers sold to 571c/kg.
Grown steers and heifers were 9c to 13c cheaper with the prime grown steers selling to 459c while the prime grown heifers sold from 460c to 484c/kg.
Cows were firm to 5c dearer with the 2 and 3 scores to the processors selling from 370c to 396c/kg. Prime heavy cows sold from 396c to 428c to average 412c/kg.
Cows to the restockers were considerably dearer with Angus cows PTIC selling to 468c while the balance of the cows to the restockers sold from 200c to 448c/kg. Heavy bulls sold to 432c/kg.
