Sam Fryer, Founder of A Place to Call Home Podcast

THE second Next Gen Ag Forum is set to go ahead in Townsville this August, with a wide spectrum of industry experts, producers and entrepreneurs on the line up.

The forum is hosted by Hughenden-based producer Sam Fryer, who presents the A Place to Call Home podcast, which interviews a range of guests about their journey to purchasing agricultural land.

From Paddock to Port is this year’s theme, with a program put together to give delegates an insight into how soil, supply chains, finance and export are interconnected.

Some highlights of the program include:

• Tim Lee, a military veteran who credits a move into regenerative agriculture for helping him out of a downward spiral after returning home from the battle fields of Afghanistan.
• Kate Moloney, who owns and manages certified organic, GAP, EU and MSA properties in south-west Queensland with her husband Peter and three sons. She will talk about her family’s succession story.
• Ben Titley, whose family owns cattle properties in North Queensland and a cold store business called Harbourside – which has been integral to getting more beef out of the Port of Townsville.

The forum will also hear from representatives from the Port of Townsville, Rabobank, Meat & Livestock Australia, the Tropical North Qld Drought Hub and more.
