
Yarding 2158 Change -1394
Numbers were back by 1400 for a mixed yarding of 2158. There were fair numbers of good quality young cattle to suit the feeders and backgrounders along with a good percentage of secondary types. There were good numbers of cows along with odd pens of well finished grown steers and heifers.
Young cattle to the trade were 10c dearer with prime yearlings selling to 546c/kg. Feeder steers and heifers were 8c to 10c dearer with the feeder steers selling from 480c to 636c/kg. Feeder heifers sold from 450c to 558c/kg. Young cattle to the restockers and backgrounders were considerably dearer with the young steers selling from 456c to 668c while the young heifers to the restockers sold to 580c/kg.
Grown steers and heifers were firm with the prime grown steers selling from 440c to 492c/kg. Prime grown heifers sold from 435c to 498c/kg. Cows to the processors were 6c to 8c dearer with the 2 and 3 scores selling from 360c to 410c/kg. Prime heavy weight cows sold from 406c to 448c to average 422c/kg. PTIC cows to the restockers sold to very strong competition selling to 456c/kg. Heavy bulls sold to 425c/kg.
