Yarding 1900 Change -73

A similar yarding to last week with 1900 cattle scanned in Gunnedah. It was a fair quality yarding with some larger lines of very good quality cattle on offer. Prime grown cattle and cows were limited. All major buyers were active in a market that saw restocker and feeder cattle mostly dearer while cows and export cattle were cheaper.

Young cattle to the trade made from 486c to 550c/kg. Yearling steers to feed were 25c better and ranged between 508c and 606c/kg to average 574c/kg while the heifers made from 448c to 573c/kg to average 547c/kg. Light steers to the restocker were cheaper but also back in quality. They made from 520c to 608c/kg and the heifers made from 456c to 572c/kg.

Prime grown cattle topped at 496c/kg. 2 and 3 score cows were 3c to 5c cheaper. 2 score cows made from 280c to 347c/kg and 3 score cows made from 345c to 390c/kg. Prime heavy weight cows were more affected to be 20c cheaper and ranged between 388c and 430c to average 409c/kg. The best bull reached 355c/kg.
