Dalby sale 13 May 2026: Prices generally dearer

The number of cattle penned at Dalby remained virtually unchanged at 6765 head. Included in the lineup were 1572 cows 2515 heifers and 2258 steers.  Buyer representation was good across all classes and all were active in the market. Prices were generally dearer for most categories.

Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock averaged 20c to 24c/kg better. Yearling steers to feed improved by 5c to 15c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers to restockers lifted in price by 12c to 30c while yearling heifers to feed gained 5c to 15c/kg. Heavy grown steers and bullocks experienced strong competition. Plain condition cows to restockers averaged 12c/kg better and cows to processors were firm to marginally dearer against the improvements experienced the previous sale.

Light weight yearling steers to restockers made to 514c with a good sample averaging from 472c to 475c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers to feed made to 462c and averaged 456c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 470c with isolated sales to 504c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers to restockers  made to 390c with the largest numbers at 355c to 369c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 399c and made to 458c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed made to a top of 464c and averaged 408c/kg.

Heavy grown steers to export processors made to 468c and bullocks made to 456c/kg. Grown heifers averaged 424c and made to 436c/kg. Medium weight plain condition cows sold to restockers at an average of 302c with sales to 324c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows to processors averaged 339c and the best of the cows made to 383c to average 368c/kg. Heavy weight bulls made to 407c/kg some returning $4,499/head.
