Bureau of Meteorology, 27/09/2023

A COLD front crossed south-eastern Australia on the 19th and 20th, bringing showers mostly to western Tasmania; another cold front moved over southern Australia at the end of the week, with little rainfall.

Easterly on-shore airflow resulted in showers for parts of the north-east coast.

Much of western and southern Tasmania and a small area on the Queensland’s Northern Tropical Coast had weekly totals of more than 50 mm for the week.

The highest weekly total (at a Bureau gauge) of 120.0 mm was recorded at Topaz Alert, Queensland; the highest daily rainfall total during the week of 66.0 mm was recorded at Warra, Tasmania, to 9am on 20 September.

Weekly totals greater than 15 mm were recorded in western and southern Tasmania, parts of southern and north-eastern Victoria and the Northern Tropical Coast in Queensland.

Most of Australia received little to no rainfall during the week.
