Vale Barry Noble

Beef Central, 14/12/2012

One of the New South Wales beef processing industry’s post-war success stories, Barry Noble, has passed away at the age of 85.

As a major shareholder and direct of GM Scott processing business at Cootamundra, Mr Scott spent 65 years in the meat industry working painstakingly to identify and implement practices and changes that positioned the company as an important player in the NSW meat processing sector.

He witnessed many developments and changes over the years including plant rationalisation and consolidation that saw many of his smaller competitors leave the business.

Mr Noble understood and implemented what was needed in order to rise above those challenges so that the GM Scott remains one of the major players in domestic processing in NSW today.

Along the way he was a significant supporter of the industry and made a considerable contribution across a range of issues.
