Market commentary from weekly NLRS Roma Store sale report:
Yarding 3425 Change -3075
Numbers declined 50pc on the previous week. It was a mixed quality yarding with the usual feedlot and restocker buyers in attendance. The shorter supply appeared to lift store cattle prices across most classes of cattle. Light and medium weight yearling heifers found extra restocker demand, with the usual southern processor and feedlot buyers also operating. Processors paid significantly more for light conditioned cows.
Light weight yearling steers sold to 179c and averaged 165c, up 7c, while D muscled sorts averaged around 148c, up 18c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers to feed topped at 172c and averaged 162c, while those returning to the paddock reached 190c and averaged 179c, up 20c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to 175c and averaged 169c, up 11c/kg.
