Fifth-generation Longreach farmers, James and Dan Walker, will share their journey from primary producers to successful rural business people with ventures spanning agritourism, solar farming, ag technology startups, agricultural education, and outback event management.
James Walker, a Nuffield Scholar, oversees diverse business interests, including sheep and beef production, a stud service, a large-scale solar farm, a software startup, and a local veterinary practice. He will share his expertise in leveraging financial acumen and customer-focused strategies to drive community-serving enterprises.
Dan Walker, also known as Outback Dan, has transformed Camden Park Station into a premier agritourism and events destination. From offering unique “taste of a working station” experiences to repurposing the ex-Longreach Pastoral College Campus into an educational and events facility, Dan is pushing boundaries and has big plans to influence a whole new generation of visitors, customers, and clients.
Hosted by BDO Brisbane and MCed by Agribusiness Australia’s Qld State Council Chair Roger Desailly, this Queensland Day event promises to deliver insights, entertainment, and inspiration from true-blue Queensland innovators.
