Grant applications reminder for WA cattle biosecurity projects

Beef Central 18/01/2024

The application deadline for biosecurity research and development grants to support Western Australia’s cattle industry has been extended.

The grants are available through the Cattle Industry Funding Scheme (IFS), underpinned by WA cattle producers’ contributions.

Applications are open for small grants of up $50,000 per year and large grants of up to $150,000 per year for up to three years, now closing on 22 March 2024.

Cattle IFS Management Committee chair Debbie Dowden said the extension would provide industry, scientific and tertiary institutions with additional opportunity to submit applications.

“We encourage applicants to put forward an Expressions of Interest for grants to support biosecurity-related research and innovation projects that will benefit the WA cattle industry,” Ms Dowden said.

“The aim of the program is to support biosecurity-related research and innovation projects focused on improving cattle health, increasing productivity and profitability, helping develop sustainable industry practice, promoting market success or enhancing industry capability.”

Community, industry and producer groups, science and not-for-profit organisations, government, academia, and education institutions, as well as university research candidates are encouraged to apply.
