CCA president recovering

Jon Condon 23/06/2011

CCA president, Greg BrownCattle Council of Australia president Greg Brown continues to make a slow but steady recovery from a serious back injury sustained in a yards accident seven weeks ago, and is gradually resuming his CCA duties.

Mr Brown was airlifted to Cairns Base Hospital in early May after being hit by a beast in the yards on his property, Meadowbank, near Mt Garnet in Far North Queensland. His recovery was complicated further by an infection.

In his absence, CCA deputy president Andrew Ogilvie, a beef producer from the Naracoorte district in South Australia, has taken much of the public engagement for CCA in the current live export issue. He has played an active role in helping the Australian beef industry to establish a supply chain assurance system to resume live trade to Indonesia.

“Mr Brown is recovering well and will soon be back in action,” Mr Ogilvie said today.
