BEEF producers have until 31 March to have cattle processed to qualify for the ANZ National Beef Carcase Competition, one of the key events of Beef 2021.

Australia’s premier beef industry event, Beef 2021, will run from 2 to 8 May in Rockhampton, with the results of the Carcase competition to be announced at the awards dinner on Tuesday, 4 May.

ANZ Head of Agribusiness Mark Bennett said: “ANZ has a long history of supporting the beef industry in Australia, and we’re pleased to support this event. Carcase yield is a strong driver to profitability and this competition drives best practice within the industry,” Mr Bennett said.

With entries from all states of Australia the Carcase competition provides an opportunity for producers to compete and benchmark their product at a national level.

The judging and scoring has been specifically tailored to take into account both the domestic and export market requirements and incorporates the latest in beef technology including market specs, lean meat yield and of course, predicted consumption quality.

Judging will be based on a modified Australian Beef Carcase Appraisal System (ABCAS) carcase grading system as approved by Beef Australia.
