15 company-director course places offered to grassfed producers

Beef Central, 11/12/2015

Grassfed beef cattle producers with aspirations to take on leadership positions in their industry are being invited to apply for one of 15 places to undertake a five-day Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) Course.

The opportunity is being provided by the Cattle Council of Australia in conjunction with Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA).

The AICD Course is a five-day comprehensive program that has been designed to focus on areas of business management and skills development that are specific to cattle producers.

Applications are open to all grassfed cattle producers that have a desire to provide leadership within the beef industry.

“This is an excellent opportunity for beef cattle producers to increase their understanding of risk management, financial performance and enhance their business skills,” CCA CEO Jed Matz said.

“Producers will further their directorship skills and knowledge which will assist them in increasing the productivity and profitability of their businesses and local communities.

‘The long term productivity and profitability of the grassfed beef industry is reliant on strong leadership which we believe can be enhanced with this accreditation for cattle producers”.

Mr Matz said participants will have the ability to undertake an optional assessment to achieve official recognition as a Graduate of the AICD course.
