A larger offering of cattle this week, with 1135 cows penned.

Quality still remains shaky as the majority of the young cattle are plain, forward store condition.

There were a few lines of well presented cows however a very dominant display of baron heifers, most lacking finish failed to deter the strong field of spirited competitors eager to secure their share of the heifer yarding.

Feedlotters and opportunistic buyers remained consistent on cattle with some weight lifting prices across several grades.

The majority of vealers lacked condition and there were very limited prime cattle on hand. The lighter weighted calves sold at softer rates. The vealers ranged from 280c to 350c/kg. Feeders paid to 373c/kg The well bred lines of black yearling feeder steers attracted stronger competition and made from 280c to 381c/kg.

The yearling heifer portion to processors made from 290c to 326c/kg, feeder heifers made from 280c to 332c/kg.

The grown steers and bullocks meeting the feedlotters requirements saw price increases, as both the 400 to 500kg and 500 to 600kg steers consistently made from 350c to 385c/kg. The heavy grown steers to the trade made from 290c to 332c/kg, while the 600kg plus bullocks made from 285c to 335c/kg.

The 2 and 4 tooth heifers ranged from 268c to 335c/kg. The heavy beef cows made from from 200c to a top of 286c/kg to average 260c/kg for the D4s.
