With another increase in numbers Roma Agents yarded 11,183 head. All the regular processors feedlotters and backgrounders present. A quality yarding of cattle penned. Steers firm on previous sale with heifers slightly dearer as was the cow market.
Light weight yearling steers under 200kg topped 398c/kg. Yearling steers 200 to 280kg with the majority selling from 302c to 414c/kg. Yearling steers 280 to 330kg sold from 300c for the plainer types and to 412c/kg for the quality lines.
Yearling steers 330 to 400g lost 5c/kg and sold to 400c and averaged 374c/kg. Yearling steers 400 to 480kg topped 398c/kg to feed. Yearling steers over 480kg made from 273 for the lighter condition to 376c/kg.
Light weight yearling heifers under 200kg sold to a stronger market and made to 340c/kg. Yearling heifers 200 to 280kg sold from 200c to 330c/kg for the better quality. Yearling heifers 280 to 330kg also improved and sold to 352c/kg. Yearling heifers 330 to 400kg improved almost 20c/kg with the majority selling from 228c to 328c/kg.
Yearling heifers 400 to 480kg did not have the rise as the lighter heifers and sold from 260c to 344c/kg. Yearling heifers over 480kg topped 330c/kg. Grown steers 400 to 500kg to feed made from 255c to 320c/kg.Grown steers 500 to 600kg made to 300c with bullocks over 600kg topping at 325c/kg.
Grown heifers over 540kg made from 284c to 304c/kg. Cows numbers were back to 1,846 head however sold to stronger market. Store cows sold from 140c to 198c/kg. The 2 score cows made from 200c to 258c/kg. The 3 score cows topped 312c/kg. Bulls over 600kg made to 272c and bulls under 600kg topped 398c/kg.

A total of 11,189 head of cattle were consigned at Roma’s Store Sale on Tuesday.
Weaner steers under 200kg topped at 398c/kg and averaged 379c/kg, weaner steers in the 200-280kg range reached 414c/kg and averaged 379c/kg. Steers in the 280-330kg range reached 398c/kg and averaged 373c/kg, and steers in the 330-400kg range reached 400c/kg and averaged 361c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-500kg range topped at 388c/kg and averaged 352c/kg.

RA & CL Bain, Mt Eden, Roma sold Angus steers to 400c/kg, reaching a top of $1,347 to average $1,246.
Dark Water Cattle Co, Darkwater, Mitchell sold Hereford cross steers to 400c/kg, reaching a top of $1,253 to average $850.
Iwona Partnership, Iwona, Mitchell sold Simmental cross steers to 400c/kg, reaching a top of $1,227 to average $1,183. The Simmental cross heifers sold to 336c/kg, reaching a top of $1,106 to average $1,028.
Winter Cattle Co, Kaimanna, Injune sold Santa Gertrudis cross steers to 396c/kg, reaching a top of $1,288 to average $1,135.
CJ Bishop, Binbinette, Wallumbilla sold Angus steers to 392c/kg, reaching a top of $1,401 to average $1,186. The Angus heifers sold to 330c/kg, reaching a top of $1,054 to average $993.
EM Baker, Rosedale, Wandoan sold Santa Gertrudis steers to 390c/kg, reaching a top of $1,342 to average $1,197. The Santa Gertrudis heifers sold to 330c/kg, reaching a top of $952 to average $874.
