Cattle were drawn from a wide supply area and the overall quality of the yarding varied. A good buyer panel was present and operating selectively.

The yarding was dominated by a large single vendor line of steers and heifers.

Prices mostly eased across the yarding however heavy weight lines of steers mostly improved.

Medium weight yearling steers under 330kg fell by 8c to 20c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers under 400kg fell by 1c to 8c however, a good number of heavy weight yearling steers rose by 3c to 17c/kg.

The largest sample of light weight yearling heifers under 280kg to restockers fell by 6c and the largest sample of medium weight yearling heifers under 330kg to feed or background also fell by 6c/kg. Medium weight 3 score cows rose by 1c while the heavy weight 3 score cows fell by 12c/kg. The largest number of light weight yearling steers under 280kg to restockers sold to 280.2c to average 265c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers under 330kg to background or feed also sold to 280.2c and averaged 266c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers under 400kg to feed sold to 268c to average 266c while heavy weight yearling steers to slaughter sold to 307.2c to average 301c/kg.

Light weight yearling heifers under 280kg to restockers sold to 232.2c to average 207c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers under 330kg to feed or background made to 234.2c to average 216c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers over 400kg to slaughter sold to 280.2c to average 241c/kg.

The best of the small number of grown steers yarded sold to 289.2c to average 289c/kg. Heavy weight grown heifers reached a top of 235.2c to average 223c/kg. Medium weight 2 score scows sold to 176.2c to average 170c while medium weight 3 score cows made to 220c to average 212c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows sold to 222.2c to average 210c and the heavy weight 4 score cows made to 226.2c to average 221c/kg.

The best of the bulls made to 266.2c to average 265c/kg.

Weaner steers under 220kg topped at 278c/kg and averaged 252c/kg, weaner steers in the 220-280kg range reached 280c/kg and averaged 258c/kg.

Steers in the 280- 350kg range reached 280c/kg and averaged 256c/kg, and steers in the 350-400kg range reached 268c/kg and averaged 251c/kg.

Feeder steers in the 400-550kg range topping at 307c/kg and averaging 265c/kg. Cows and calves hit $650/unit.

West Farming Pty, Loomeah, Roma sold Hereford cross steers to 300c/kg, reaching a top of $1,861 to average $1,767.

Nissi Farming sold Hereford cross steers to 300c/kg, reaching a top of $1,857 to average $1,729.

Twatty Past Co, Piastre, Quilpie sold Charolais cross steers to 289c/kg, reaching a top of $1,738 to average $1,059.

JM & KM Bock, Kilto, Wandoan sold cross breed steers to 280c/kg, reaching a top of $916 to average $812.

Cattle JV Pty Ltd, Rewan, Rolleston sold Droughtmaster steers to 280c/kg, reaching a top of $656 to average $546. The Droughtmaster heifers sold to 232c/kg, reaching a top of $937 to average $469.

Joyce Cattle Co, Woolshed, Theodore sold Santa cross steers to 276c/kg, reaching a top of $720 to average $641.

Tom Darlington Transport, Wongabell, Surat sold Belmont red cross steers to 268c/kg, reaching a top of $918 to average $809.

JE & JL Creevey, Lucknow, Augathella sold Charolais steers to 265c/kg, reaching a top of $873 to average $753. The Charolais cross heifers sold to 235c/kg, reaching a top of $846 to average $499.

K Bredhauer, Rosevale, Wyandra sold Charbray steers to 262c/kg, reaching a top of $1,274 to average $875.

Yoothapina Farming Co, Yoothapina, Meandarra sold Angus cross steers to 262c/kg, reaching a top of $739 to average $643. The Angus cross heifers sold to 232c/kg, reaching a top of $669 to average $532.

Heifers under 220kg topped at 214c/kg and averaged 189c/kg, while heifers in the 220-280kg range topped at 232c/kg and averaged 197c/kg. Heifers in the 280-350kg range topped at 242c/kg, averaging 210c/kg. Heifers in the 350-450kg range topped at 280c/kg, averaging 211c/kg.

Derbyshire Downs Pastoral Co Pty Ltd, Derbyshire Downs, Augathella sold Charolais cross heifers to 247c/kg, reaching a top of $1,240 to average $1,240.

Cows in the 300-400kg range reached 200c/kg and averaged 154c/kg, while cows in the 400kg-500kg range reached 219c/kg and averaged 185c/kg. Cows over 500kg topped at 226c/kg, averaging 208c/kg.
