Yarding 6774 Change 1132
Yesterday’s Roma store sale numbers increased by 1132 head from last week to 6774 head.
Cattle were drawn for a wide supply area including the Northern Territory. A larger panel of buyers was present and restocker demand for lightweight yearling steers was stronger. Medium weight steers also improved up to 12c/kg, while grown steers across all weight ranges saw little change from last week.
Lightweight yearling heifers improved by 7c/kg and plainer condition cows continued to improve.
A fair sample of very light weight yearling steers to restockers sold to 310.2c, to average 304 c/kg. Light weight yearling steers to restockers or background averaged in the mid 280c range, to reach 294.2 c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers to feed sold to 295c, to average 288 c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 283c and made to 286.2 c/kg. A large sample of light weight yearling heifers averaged 236c and sold to 250.2 c/kg. Lesser quality lines averaged around 195c/kg.
Medium weight grown steers to feed sold to 285c, to average in the 278c/kg range. Medium weight 2 score cows averaged 210c and the best of the medium weights made to 250.2 c/kg. Good heavy cows made to 255.2c, to average 254 c/kg. A large run of very light bulls averaged 227 c/kg.

Weaner steers under 220kg topped at 310c/kg and averaged 266c/kg, weaner steers in the 220-280kg range reached 288c/kg and averaged 262c/kg. Steers in the 280-350kg range reached 295c/kg and averaged 276c/kg, and steers in the 350-400kg range reached 295c/kg and averaged 279c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-550kg range topping at 286c/kg and averaging 269c/kg. Cows and calves hit $450/unit.
