The hot and dry weather saw drought affected lighter cattle presented, however backgrounding buyers were still present and active. Quality trade stock held firm, as did store cows and the gap closed between the fat score 3 and 4 cows. Out of specification cattle are being presented, as expected this time of year, albeit the quality has been generally good given the seasonal conditions.
