Roma Store 26 June 2013: Light steers to 194c/kg

A total of 9380 head of cattle were penned at Roma’s Store Sale on Tuesday.

Weaners under 220kg topped at 182c/kg and averaged 164c/kg, while weaner steers in the 220-280kg range reached 194c/kg and averaged 169c/kg. Steers in the 280-350kg range reached 181c/kg and averaged 158c/kg, and steers in the 350-400kg range reached 181c/kg and averaged 150c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-550kg range topping at 176c/kg and averaging 163c/kg.

The Packer family, Trinity, Roma, sold Charolais-cross steers to 194c/kg and averaged 188c/kg for 244kg to return $460/head.

G O’Brien, Neirbo Plains, Lighting Ridge, New South Wales, sold Angus-cross steers to 184c and averaged 181c for 294kg to make $533. They also sold Angus-cross heifers to 156c for 332kg to return $519. 

The Rowlands family, Hamlet Downs, Barcaldine, sold Charolais-cross steers to 182c for 213kg to make $388.

Clarke & Tait, Powella, Aramac, sold Santa steers to 181c for 364kg to make $660.

Christensen Rural, Pinnacle, Roma, sold Angus steers to 180c for 309kg to return $557.

J Blanchard, Waterview, Injune, sold Charolais-cross steers to 180c for 275kg to make $496.

Waroona Pastoral Co, Longreach, sold Angus-cross steers to 176c for 455kg to return $802.

Fawckner & Latham, Yuleba, sold Charolais-cross steers to 176c for 433kg to make $764.

Oberina Grazing Co, Roma, sold Droughtmaster steers to 175c and averaged 172c for 415kg to return $716.

Perrett Cattle Co, Tunis, Injune, sold Droughtmaster steers to 174c for 475kg to make $827.

The Kadel family, Pameroo, Roma, sold Hereford-cross steers to 173c for 431kg to make $747.

Dalawai Holdings, Cornwall, Roma, sold Droughtmaster steers to 168c for 494kg to make $831.

Heifers in the 350-450kg range reached 150/kg and averaged 130c/kg.

Heifers in the 280-350kg range topped at 173c/kg and averaged 132c/kg.

Heifers in the 220-280kg range topped at 177c/kg and averaged 142c/kg, while heifers under 220kg topped at 160c/kg and averaged 143c/kg.

The Sorensen family, Beaumont, Injune, sold Charolais-cross heifers to 177c and averaged 175c for 286kg to return $501.

The Freeman family, Emoh-Ruo, Roma, sold Charolais-cross heifers to 166c for 269kg to make $447.

Lorraine Pastoral Co, Lorraine, Cloncurry, sold Brahman heifers to 146c for 271kg to return $397. 

Gwenbrook Farms Pastoral Co, Roma, sold Santa-cross heifers to 141c for 241kg to make $340.

Cows over 500kg hit 126c/kg and averaged 115c/kg, while cows 400-500kg topped at 134c/kg and averaged 107c/kg. Cows in the 300-400kg sold to 109c/kg and averaged 92c/kg.

Cows and calves N/A.

Bulls up to 400kg reached 174c/kg and average 147c/kg.
