It was a modest yarding of store cattle for the final sale of the year.

Quality varied from plain to good with cattle drawn from across western Queensland.

Good restocker attendance lifted light weight yearling steers prices, while feedlot buyers were more selective when purchasing. Good numbers of light weight yearling heifers returned to the paddock, while medium weight heifers to domestic feedlot buyers held firm in price.

Light weight yearling steers hit 434c and averaged between 382c and 398c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers to feed sold to 364c and averaged 344c, while those going to restocker buyers topped at 388c and averaged 362c/kg.

Heavy weight yearling steers to feed earned to 374c and averaged 336c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers sold to 375c and averaged between 334c and 348c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed made to 336c and averaged 329c/kg.

Grown steers to feed made to 336c and averaged 320c/kg. Most medium weight 3 score cows sold between 228c and 238c/kg.

Weaners under 220kg top at 434c/kg

A total of 4759 head of cattle were consigned at Roma’s Store Sale on Tuesday.

Weaners under 220kg topped at 434c/kg and averaged 395c/kg, weaner steers in the 220-280kg range also reached 434c/kg and averaged 383c/kg. Steers in the 280-350kg range reached 404c/kg and averaged 357c/kg, and steers in the 350-400kg range reached 366c/kg and averaged 337c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-550kg range topping at 341c/kg and averaging 314c/kg.

I & H Brindley, Glenapp, Mitchell, sold Santa-cross steers to 416c/kg for 220kg to return $915/head. The Santa-cross heifers sold to 366c for 202kg to return $740.
M & K Hudson, Tongy, Mitchell, sold Cross-breed steers to 406c for 279kg to return $1134. The Cross-breed heifers sold to 372c for 243kg to return $904.
MLA & JL Morton, Ridgelands, Wallumbilla, sold Droughtmaster steers to 392c for 299kg to return $1173.
W.G Proud & D.S Brumpton, Mallers, Roma, sold Charolais-cross steers to 384c for 272kg to return $1045. The Charolais-cross heifers sold to 344c for 286kg to return $986.
R.G & B Mobbs, Wallambank, Bollon, sold Charolais-cross steers to 376c for 311kg to return $1171. The Santa heifers sold to 358c/kg for 298kg to return $1068.
Dart Pastoral Co, Thirlstone, Roma, sold Charolais-cross steers to 370c for 316kg to return $1170.
Mt Cornish Grazing Co, Mount Cornish, Muttaburra, sold Santa steers to 364c for 368kg to return $1340.
KE & DE Donner, Boxvale, Taroom, sold Hereford-cross steers to 358c for 346kg to return $1240.
Mayne Pastoral, Coolamon, Dulacca, sold Santa-cross steers to 356c for 356kg to return $1271.

J Muller, Kenellen, Kynuna, sold Droughtmaster-cross steers to 326c for 487kg to return $1590.
W.N & M.M Jones, Norolle Downs, Roma, sold Santa-cross steers to 326c for 465kg to return $1518.
Brown & Sons, Mayfield, Duchess, sold Droughtmaster-cross steers to 280c for 500kg to return $1400.
Heifers in the 350-450kg range reached 344c/kg and averaged 310c/kg. Heifers in the 280-350kg range topped at 358c/kg and averaged 323c/kg. Heifers in the 220-280kg range topped at 375c/kg and averaged 342c/kg, while heifers under 220kg topped at 380c/kg and averaged 352c/kg.

Stanford Grazing, Ardlui, Roma, sold Charolais-cross heifers to 358c for 273kg to return $978.
T.J & J.A Sorensen, Westerdale, Injune, sold EU Charolais-cross heifers to 354c for 315 to return $1118.
Tungamah Farming, Bindyego, Roma, sold Droughtmaster-cross heifers to 325c for 374kg to return $1216.
Cows over 500kg sold to 238c/kg and averaged 224c/kg, while cows 400-500kg topped at reached 226c/kg and averaged 213c/kg. Cows in the 300-400kg sold to 246c/kg and averaged 201c/kg.

Cows and calves hit $1660/unit and averaged $1419.
Lolworth Grazing Co, Donnabar, Wallumbilla, sold Charolais cows and calves for $1660/unit.
Bulls up to 400kg reached 398c/kg and averaged 324c/kg.

Today’s Store Sale was the last sale for 2016, sales will recommence January 10, 2017.
