NVLX Wodonga 25 July 2023: Numbers back after price falls

Numbers declined significantly on the back of last week’s price correction.

Over a third of the offering was cows with the balance of the stock mixed in quality.

The usual export and domestic processors were at the sale.

Buyers operated with enthusiasm over the limited supply of stock.

The reduced number of veal sold to significantly stronger trends. The pick of the vealers selling from 310c to 341c/kg.

There was strong demand across trade weight classes. Trade steers and heifers sold from 250c to 290c/kg. In the export sale domestic and export processors were keen to secure both steers and heifers. Heavy bullocks making from 260c to 314c/kg. Heavy steers to feed on sold to improved competition to average 287c/kg. The smaller offering of cows ignited bidding with some sales 30c/kg dearer. The better finished heavy cows selling from 240c to 288c/kg. Leaner D2 and D3 cows were in limited supply and prices ranged from 174c to 210c/kg.

Bulls sold from 227c to 246c/kg.
