NVLX Wodonga 11 April 2023: Grain-assisted yearlings firm

Selling action at Wodonga.

Yarding 600 Change + 100

Numbers were similar. Most of the usual export and domestic buyers were at the sale however not all operated fully.

The reduced supply of vealers sold to mixed trends due to the limited stock.

The bulk of the vealers made from 340 to 476c/kg.

Bidding intensified for grain assisted yearlings with prices mostly unchanged.

Trade steers topped at 400c, while the heifer portion sold from 336c to 446c/kg.

In the export sale domestic processors upped the ante on all well finished younger stock.

Heavy bullocks making from 312c to 330c/kg. Heavy steers gained 38c to average 348c/kg.

The small offering of cows pressured buyer into bidding strongly. The better finished heavy types of cows were 3c dearer selling from 285c to 312c/kg. Heavy bulls sold at 272c to 313c/kg.
