MLA Indicators return to operation after shutdown

Beef Central, 14/01/2021

Key points:

• MLA’s indicators have resumed reporting this week after the Christmas shutdown
• The Eastern Young Cattle Indicator, Eastern States Daily Indicators and Comprehensive Indicator Report returned on 11 January
• Yarding and feeder reports and the OTH Indicator for the 2021 year have been available since 4 January.

MLA commenced reporting the over-the-hooks (OTH) indicator last week, feeder report and yarding reports after shutting down for the Christmas period.

All other indicators have resumed reporting this week.

The absence of the Eastern Young Cattle Indicator (EYCI) or the Eastern States Trade Lamb Indicator (ESTLI) last week was due to the Indicators requiring five days’ worth of sale data to calculate a rolling average.
