Yarding 3672 Change 726

A fair panel of buyers was present and operating, however one major export processor remains absent from the buying panel.

Local and interstate restocker buyers were very active in the market, with the vast majority of the young cattle purchased by interstate buyers.

Light weight yearling steers returning to the padlock averaged 7c/kg better. Medium and heavy weight yearling steers to feed generally sold to strong demand.

Light weight yearling heifers experience strong support for the quality penned. Medium and heavy weight yearling heifers experience very little change in price.

Most classes of cows were generally cheaper, with cows to processors 7c to 14c/kg less, however plan condition lines returning to the paddock exceeded the prices paid for processor classes.

Yearling steers under 200kg made to 560.2c to average 480c/kg. Yearling steers under 280kg averaged 450c and made to 524c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged from 396c to 421c, with isolated sales to 440c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to 412.2c to average 390c/kg. A handful of heavy weight yearling steers to the trade made to 406c/kg.

Light weight yearling heifers returning to the paddock made to 498c, to average 419c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed made to 414c, to average from 376c to 407c/kg.

Medium weight 2 score cows to processors averaged 241c, and 3 scores averaged 257c/kg. Heavy weight 3 and 4 score cows averaged 261c and 265c respectively with sales to 269c/kg. Medium weight plain condition cows returning to the paddock averaged 260c, and heavy weights to restockers topped at 272c to average 267c/kg.
