A full panel of export processors was present and operating, along with a large line up of feed and trade buyers plus local and interstate restockers.

Prices generally improved, with some new high levels recorded.

Young light weight cattle returning to the paddock lifted in price by 32c/kg to 49c/kg.

Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market gained up to 30c, and heavy weight yearling steers to feed improved by 17c/kg.

Light weight yearling heifers to restockers or background averaged 28c/kg dearer. Yearling heifers to feed lifted in price by 33c to 35c/kg. A fair sample of heavy grown steers and bullocks to export processors averaged 2c to 3c/kg better.

Most classes of cows sold to a dearer trend of 5c to 14c/kg. Yearling steers under 200kg made to a new high 602.2c to average 566c/kg. Yearling steers under 280kg also made to 606.2c with a very large sample averaging 502c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged from 425c to 472c with sales to 486c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to 428c to average 423c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers under 200kg made to 556c to average 504c/kg.

Yearling heifers 280kg average 498c with sales to 546c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed averaged from 431c to 461c, while lesser quality lines average 365c/kg. Heavy grown steers to export processors averaged 378c and made to 381c, while the bullock portion averaged 377c, with sales to 384.2c/kg. Grown heifers to export processors made to 364c, to average 346c/kg. PTIC lines returned to the paddock at an average of 349c with sales to 350c/kg.

Medium weight plain condition cows returning to the paddock averaged 283c, and some better conditions lines PTIC returned to the paddock selling for 333c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows to processors averaged 275c and 3 scores averaged 288c/kg. A large selection of good heavy weight cows averaged 315c with sales to 326.2c/kg.

Heavy bulls made to 344c/kg.

All markets sold to a dearer trend with restocker cattle being in high demand due to the weather forecast. Light weaners were up to 50c dearer, feeder steers & heifers 28c to 35c dearer, cows 5c to 15c dearer. Hopefully we see some good rain in the coming weeks.
