Dalby sale 30 Sep 2020: Prices lift across most classes

Buyer attendance was good with all the major export processors in attendance and operating, plus the regular feeder and trade buyers, and interstate and local restockers.

Prices generally improved across most classes with light weight yearling steers gaining a further 8c to 12c/kg.

Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market average 6c to 16c better, and heavy weights improved by 13c/kg.

Light weight yearling heifers experienced only quality related price changes.

Yearling heifers to feed received the largest gains to average over 30c/kg better. A small selection of bullocks also lifted in price by 26c/kg.

A much larger number of cows were penned and export processors were able to absorb the increased supply plus lift average prices by 11c to 19c/kg.

Yearling steers under 200kg made to a top 592.2c with a fair sample averaging 511c/kg.

A large sample of yearling steers under 280kg averaged 462c and made to 532c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market average from 410c to 433c and sold to 456c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to an isolated 442c to average 400c/kg.

Light weight yearling heifers under 200kg made to 508c with a large selection averaging 460c/kg. Yearling heifers under 280kg made to 464c average 433c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed average from 411c to 428c and sold to 438c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 378c and made to 384c/kg.

Bullocks made to 376.2c to average 367c/kg.

Plain condition cows returning to the paddock made to 284c to average 275c/kg.

The best of the medium weight cows to processors made 313c to average 304c/kg.

Good heavy weight cows made to 321.2c in pen lots with a large number averaging 310c/kg. Heavy weight bulls made to 341c/kg.
