All the regular export and feeder buyers were in attendance and operating, plus a good lineup of local and interstate restockers. Overall quality was generally good across most classes.

Yearling steers under 200kg returning to the paddock reached a new high level of 790.2c/kg.

However light weight yearling steers and heifers were well supplied and buyers operated selectively. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market improved in price 13c to 15c/kg.

Medium and heavy weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 7c to 13c/kg dearer. Prices for cows could not maintain the high levels of the previous sale and averaged 4c to 6c cheaper and up to 13c/kg in places.

Light weight yearling steers under 200kg averaged 663c and sold to 790.2c/kg. Light weight yearling steers under 280kg made to 706c to average 542c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged from 480c to 510c with sales to 538c/kg.

Heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 456c and made to 472.2c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers under 200kg made to 690c to average 644c/kg. Yearling heifers under 280kg averaged 489c with sales to 566c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed to averaged from 424c to 446c and sold to 472c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed made to 449c to average 431c/kg. Heavy grown steers to export processors made to 391c to average 389c/kg. Medium weight plain condition cows to restockers averaged 290c and sold to 299c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows to processors averaged 260c and made to 270c/kg. A large sample of good heavy weight cows made to 317c to average 304c/kg. Heavy weight bulls made to 340c/kg.

There was a good attendance of export and feeder buyers, and restockers that were local and interstate. Overall quality was good. Highest price Dalby has achieved 790c light weight yearling steers. All categories were dearer other than heavy cows, which were 5 – 15c cheaper. Open auction calves $600 to $900.
