Dalby sale 25 Feb 2021: All classes of cows dearer

Beef Central 25/02/2021

Yarding 4093 Change -198

The usual panel of export buyers was present, and all were active in the market.

There was increased number of feeder operators in attendance plus local and interstate restockers.

Light weight yearling steers and heifers returning to the paddock continued to receive very strong support, however buyers were selective in places. Yearling steers and heifers to feed for the domestic market could not maintain the levels of the previous sale to receive some quality related price changes. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed experienced very little change in price.

Heavy grown steers and bullocks to export processors averaged 6c to 7c/kg less.

All classes of cows sold to a dearer trend to improve in price by 4c to 9c, and restocker lines averaged 20c/kg better.

Light weight yearling steers under 200kg averaged 635c and made to 670c/kg. Yearling steers under 280kg made to 644c to average 519c, and secondary lines averaged 431c/kg.

Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged from 456c to 478c, with one outstanding line reaching 532.2c/kg.

Heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 441c and made to 454c/kg.

Light weight yearling heifers under 200kg made to 584c to average 528c/kg. Yearling heifers under 280kg averaged 490c and made to 560c, with secondary lines averaging 399c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed averaged from 416c to 448c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 404c and made to 431c/kg.

Heavy grown steers and bullocks to export processors averaged 370c and 372c respectively with sales to 375c/kg. Medium weight plain condition cows returning to the paddock averaged 302c/kg.

The best of the cows to export processors averaged 303c and made to 316.2c/kg.

Heavy weight bulls made to 330c/kg.
