Yarding 2848 Change 590

The usual panel of feed and trade buyers were in attendance, however one major export processor was absent from the buying panel.

A large number of local and interstate restockers were very active in the market.

Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock continued to improve in price. Medium and heavy weight yearling steers to feed experienced only quality related price changes.

Light weight yearling heifers to restockers or background sold to very solid demand and yearling heifers to feed followed a similar trend.

Most classes of cows experienced very little change in price compared to the previous sale.

Yearling steers under 330kg to feed averaged 512c, however the restocker lines averaged 533c and made to a top of 566c/kg. Yearling steers under 400kg to feed averaged 460c and made to 500c, with a handful returning to the paddock making to 524c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to the occasional 508c, averaging 447c/kg.

Light weight yearling heifers returning to the paddock made to 594c to average 523c/kg. Yearling heifers under 330kg to feed averaged 484c and made to 520c, with some restocker lines making to 590c to average 540c/kg. A strong attendance of buyers and some more winter rainfall saw all categories sell to a firm to dear market.
