The supply of stock reduced to 4,925 head and the trend of large numbers of cows being offered for sale continued. Buyer representation was good, with the return of interstate export processors and feeder operators.

Steer calves lifted in price by 50c, and heifer calves gained 15c/kg pushed on by restockers from western districts. Light weight yearling steers returned to the paddock 10c/kg better. Medium weight yearling steers to feed averaged 6c/kg dearer.

Heavy weight yearling steers to feed lifted in price by 11c and processorr classes averaged 17c/kg better. Light weight yearling heifers to restockers or background sold to good demand for the quality penned. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 8c dearer and heavy weights improved 3c to 7c/kg. Heavy grown steers and bullocks gained 3c/kg. Medium and heavy weight cows lifted in price by 4c to 11c on top of the improvements experienced the previous week and cows returning to the paddock averaged 9c to 15c/kg dearer. Steer calves returning to the paddock averaged 273c and made to 326.2c, and heifer calves made to 222.2c/kg. Light weight yearling steers to restockers made to 304.2c, with a large sample averaging 282c/kg. Y

earling steers weighing 280-330kg to restockers made to 315.2c to average 282c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers to feed averaged 281c, with sales to 298.2c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers made to 314.2c, with a large selection at 297c, while local trade lines averaged 302c and made to 311.2c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers averaged 209c and made to 238.2c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed sold to 275c, with majority making close to 248c/kg. The largest samples of heavy weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 262c and made to 279.2c, and processor classes made to 292.2c to average 272c/kg. Heavy grown steers made to the occasional 316.2c to average 298c, as the bullock portion made to 309.2c to average 300c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows made to 198.2c to average 181c/kg. A large selection of good heavy cows averaged 231c, with sales to 243.2c/kg. Heavy bulls made to 273.2c/kg.

The total number of cattle increased, to previous weeks with a total yarding of 5939 head.

The market in Dalby was very strong with the export market a good 10c to 20c dearer.

The light end of the cattle were also very strong with a few new backgrounders involved.
