Yarding 2663 Change +177
Despite some useful falls of rain across the supply area the number of cattle penned at Dalby increased by 177 head to 2,663.
All the regular buyers were in attendance and operating in a generally dearer market.
Light weight yearling steers and heifers returning to the paddock averaged from 40c to 60c/kg better. Medium and heavy weight yearling steers to feed also lifted in price.
Medium and heavy weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 20c to 30c/kg dearer and more in places.
Cows lifted in price to average 7c to 10c/kg better.
Yearling steers under 200kg made to 342c with a fair sample at 313c/kg. Yearling steers under 280kg to restockers sold to 300c to average 272c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged 278c with one large run reaching 291c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 228c and made to 250c/kg.
Light weight yearling heifers to restockers averaged 193c and made to 218c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed sold to 232c and averaged 214c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed made to 220c to average 210c with some to the local trade at 246c/kg.
Full mouth bullocks made to 226c to average 220c/kg.
Medium weight 2 score cows averaged 143c and made to 155c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows averaged 180c and good heavy weights averaged 198c with some very high yielding cows to 220c/kg.
Heavy weight bulls made to 223c/kg.

Numbers lifted this week in Dalby and prices responded to the rainfall seen over the weekend. The usual panel of buyers were present and active operating to strong competition. Prices across the board lifted with light weight yearling cattle experiencing a very good jump with weaner steers reaching a top of 344c/kg for steers under 200 kg with a lot of steers under 300kg making around 270c/kg and weaner heifers topped at 218c/kg with a lot of heifers from 180 to 210c/kg.
