The larger numbers contained consignments of 415 head from far Western Queensland, and 122 from New South Wales, with the remainder from the local supply area. Export buyer attendance was good and most were operating on reduced prices. The regular feed and trade buyers, and a good lineup of restockers provided strong support on suitable classes. A lift in the standard of the light weight yearling steers and heifers returning to the paddock combined with stronger competition improved average prices by 8c and over 20c/kg in places. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market sold to a dearer trend. The better quality lineup of medium weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 17c/kg dearer, and heavy weights also experienced a dearer market. Most classes of cows sold to a cheaper trend with export processor lines 8c to 11c/kg less.

Light weight yearling steers under 200kg made to a top of 826c to averaged 721c/kg. Yearling steers under 280kg averaged 688c and made to 794c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged from 564c to 588c with the occasional sale to 682c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 515c with isolated sales to 598c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers under 200kg made to 750c to average 724c/kg. A large selection of yearling heifers under 280kg made to 670c to average 596c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed averaged from 550c to 561c with one large consignment making to 590c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed made to 554c to average 470c/kg.

A couple of bullocks to the wholesale meat trade made to 452c, and a handful over 750kg to export processors made to 412c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows averaged 329c and made to 337c/kg. Good heavy weight cows averaged 368c and made to 383c/kg. Heavy weight bulls made to 355c/kg. Cows and calves made to $3,650/unit. PTIC cows sold open auction made to $2,600 per head.
