Yarding 1973 Change +1123

1973 cattle were scanned in Gunnedah an increase off 1100 cattle from last week. It was a plainer condition yarding with limited numbers of prime cattle on offer. All major buyers were present for steady competition in a market that plateaued with some grades of lighter cattle certainly softer.

Prime young cattle to the processor ranged from 420c to 520c/kg. Yearling steers to feed were 10 to 15c dearer and made from 500 to 574c to average 551c/kg while the heifers held firm to stay between 460c and 547c/kg. Light steers to the restocker also held firm. They made from 492c to 651c/kg however the light heifers were 20c cheaper and more in places to make between 416c and 529c/kg.

Prime grown cattle to the processor made from 420c to 440c/kg. 2 and 3 score cows to the processor held firm and made from 320c to 400c/kg. Prime heavy weight cows were slightly dearer and made from 400c to 449c/kg. Cows going back to the paddock made from 290c to 380c/kg and the best bulls got to 370c/kg.
