The ‘Nothin But Beef’ field day to be held at Texas Angus’s Doongara property, Warialda, in July will bring together a range of industry leaders, economists, technology specialists and supply chain representatives to discuss key issues shaping the future of the beef industry.
Among the headline speakers will be NAB Chief Economist Dr Sally Auld, who will provide an update on financial and beef market trends, while Gallagher’s New Zealand-based Strategy and Innovation Manager Sarah Adams will outline the latest developments in virtual fencing technology and other ag-tech innovations aimed at improving paddock utilisation and farm profitability.
A panel featuring Mort & Co chief executive Stephen O’Brien, senior manager agronomy Marie Crawford and Boolah Group chief executive Stuart Tighe will discuss the use of feedlot manure enhanced with biologicals, while AuctionsPlus chief executive Wynand Snyman and general manager Paul Holmes will explore how digital platforms connect seedstock brands with commercial cattle buyers.
Representatives from NH Foods, including Whyalla Feedlot general manager Tony Fitzgerald and Oakey Exports general manager Brett Williams, will discuss branded beef supply chains and what processors are seeking from beef producers supplying premium beef programs.
Queensland producer and National Farmers Federation president Hamish McIntyre, from McIntyre Ag at St George, will also provide his perspective on the commercial realities facing today’s beef businesses.

The Mayne family from Texas Angus have assembled the the program to cover topics including global beef markets, feedlot-to-consumer supply chains, sustainability, alternative fertilisers, ag-tech developments and the value of seedstock in an increasingly digital marketplace.
More than 300 bulls will also be on display, alongside a wide range of trade exhibits and industry displays.
The event runs from 9am to 4pm on Thursday, July 9, at Texas Angus, Doongara, 748 North Star Road, Warialda, NSW.
Tickets are $40 per person and include free barista coffee throughout the day, morning tea and lunch, with celebrity chef Jason Roberts scheduled to provide the catering. Ticket purchasers will also go into the draw to win a Texas Angus Yeti Gallon Jug.
