New website promotes careers in agriculture

Beef Central, 12/12/2016

Five agricultural research and development organisations will today launch a new website aimed at promoting careers in agriculture.

The “People in Agriculture” site (www.peopleinag.com.au), to be launched by Ag Minister Barnaby Joyce, will also offer compliance support for agricultural employers and provide a platform for employment information sharing.

The centralised hub aims to help agriculture attract and retain the best and brightest talent  to ensure a bright, profitable future for the sector.

The collaboration includes Rural Research and Development Corporations (RDCs) covering cotton, pork, dairy, grains, and cattle, sheep and goat industries, along with project partner Food and Agribusiness Solutions.

People in Agriculture offers practical tips, templates and examples across agriculture that can be easily applied to streamline employment processes developed to assist and inform best practice employment on farms.

The website breaks down questions commonly asked by Australia’s farmers and food producers around employment law and staff management, and provides access to information on employment opportunities, entitlements and career management in agriculture.

The combined RDCs will support content for the multi-platform site with videos, profiles, news, events and links to other resources. Visit www.peopleinag.com.au.
